She spoke to the children about Democracy and the House of Lords, helping them to learn more about how our democracy works. 🗳️🏛️ We were also pleased to welcome Olivia Field, CEO of the Jo Cox Foundation, who was joined by Kim Leadbeater, Jo Cox’s sister, who spoke to the children about Jo and her inspiring legacy. ❤️ Olivia was here to promote the important message: 💬 “We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us.” It was a fantastic opportunity for our children to learn, ask questions and reflect on the importance of democracy, community and what we have in common. 🤝🌟 6 Likes

For our investigation, we tasted rocket (bitter) and lemon (sour). 🍋🌿 We then used all five senses to make some microwave popcorn! We were so excited to watch the popcorn change, hear it pop and, most importantly, taste the different flavours! 🍿 Both sweet and salty were very popular! 😋👏 11 Likes

Photos from Crossley Fields J & I School's post🌟 Science Fun in Class HL! 🌟 As part of our Science topic, Class HL have been learning all about the human body. We had lots of fun drawing around one of our classmates and working together to label different body parts! To help us remember, we sang "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and discussed some new vocabulary, including stomach and neck. The children showed great curiosity and asked some fantastic questions, such as where our lungs are located. Many of the children were also keen to use their phonics skills to help label our giant body picture. We are so proud of their enthusiasm, teamwork, and eagerness to learn.
