Crossley Fields Core Values
Crossley Fields Class Codes of Conduct
At the start of the school year teachers will agree with their class:
- A class code of conduct
- What happens if the code of conduct is not maintained
As part of Investors in Pupils, teachers should agree a ‘Class Vision’ which comes from children’s ideas and epitomizes the perfect class.
In addition, a class target is agreed which takes their class closer to the vision. As the target is achieved, it is reviewed and another target agreed. The target should be displayed and have a clear measure towards the target, so children can gauge their progress.
During the first few weeks of the academic year, individual Investors in Pupils targets usually relating to behaviour and attitudes to school are decided by pupils. It may be appropriate for these to be agreed in their previous year group and with parental input.
At the beginning of the year, each class formulates their own class rules, which are in keeping with the school rules. These are negotiated between the class teacher and the children and are displayed in the classroom.
Children are expected to behave courteously and to show respect for each other and adults. Positive attitudes and the fostering of high self-esteem are encouraged at all times.
