Crossley Fields

On behalf of the children, staff, governors and the wider Crossley Fields community I would like to thank you for visiting our website.

Crossley Fields is a three-form entry culturally diverse primary school in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. There are currently around 570 children in the school.

This website launched early in January 2020 and we hope that you find it useful in finding out about the school. It has the basic information that you would expect to see, however as time has progressed and the pandemic has taken hold it has become an important way of communicating more easily with parents, which is a big task in such a big school.

The Year Group 'bubbles' have been vital in this respect as we have been able to place a lot of useful information for parents behind these and this will continue to be the case moving forward.

This remains an exciting time for the school in many ways as we move forward with curricular changes that have been implemented over the last twelve months, and we will use the website to show on-going developments and celebrate that which the staff and children have done so much hard work on this year.

We have not let the pandemic define us, but it has shaped our thinking, and made us as a school evaluate that which is really important to us. Our school council working with the rest of the children in school have developed our new school core values, that they believe what define our school. They are;

These have been seen in great detail over the past year. And you can find out more about our whole school Unity topic in the video below!

We want to update the website regularly and we will keep sharing the work of the school both from a Leadership perspective but from a child’s eye – after all they are our key stakeholders!

For now enjoy the website, but if you are a prospective parent, wishing to see some of the work we do at the school, please ring the school office for a visit to the school. I have regular slots in my diary to show all interested parties around.

With my very best wishes,

Nick Long
